This week’s PGA Tour event is the Tampa Bay Championship presented by EverBank (formerly the Transitions Championship).
The event is still played on a course called Copperhead at the Innisbrook Resort and Golf Club in Palm Harbor, Florida. Copperhead is a relatively long par 71 at over 7300 yards but is very score-able for Tour pros... it ranked somewhere in the middle in difficulty in 2012. Winning this tournament is about consistency and the list of winners features more finesse players than it does power guys. Luke Donald won in a four man playoff last year and this tournament does have a nice history of close finishes. I expect the same kind of closely contended event this year with the winner at around 270 after four days. Here is a look at the top ten guys at the books this week (as of this posting) and a few of my best bets for the newly named Tampa Bay Championship:
